Yule Wassail
Introduction
Hot mulled wine is perfect after a night of singing carols and looking at holiday lights!
Ingredients
12 small tart apples
6 pints ale
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp each ginger, cinnamon & nutmeg
4 whole cloves
zest of 2 lemons
2 pints red wine

Directions
Peel & core apples and dry roast them in a slow oven until they almost burst.
Combine 1/3 of the ale with the sugar, spices, and lemon zest, Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Add remaining ale & wine and heat through, but do not boil. Serve hot.
Put apples in bottom of large mug and pour mixture over the top.
